Very true Colin.

As with all great technologies, the most important success factor is to create the awareness among the people that will benefit from it the most that will ultimately secure the success of the technology.

Luckily IDM has been in the Gartner and other's sites for quite some time now, but as you correctly point out, the typical decision maker still seems unaware of the need for a proper IAM solution.

It seems we still have a long way to go, but we'll get there- one identity at a time...

Interesting read. Hopefully, the identity management road will find the tread of more private and public sector feet. As with most innovative services, the corporate "head" still needs to discover the benefits to be derived from IDM solutions (as well as from enterprise open source offerings) that can open business offerings up to a wider market securely and profitably.
